In 1972 Allan Swanson founded Allan H. Swanson, Inc. starting our firm’s history. After twenty plus years of success in the surveying and civil engineering business, Allan transferred the company to Paul F. Hayner Jr., P.E. his longtime Principal Engineer. Paul formed Hayner/Swanson, Inc. (HSI) in 1995, and the firm continues to focus on providing top quality services to both private and public sector clients.

In 2008, James N. Petropulos, P.E. and in 2010, John Vancor, P.E. joined Paul as partners in the firm.

In 2014 Jim and John completed the acquisition of the firm and are now guiding Hayner/Swanson, Inc. into the future with a staff that includes professional engineers and surveyors registered in all six New England states.

As Professionals we recognize the importance of maintaining affiliations with civil engineering and land surveying associations and organizations.
